McDowell-Designed Home Sweeps Awards Season

“But what really sets this home apart, is it’s exterior,” says builder and homeowner, Tom Obodzinski. “It’s such a classic and it really resonates with so many people. When you think of the famous New York townhouse, you think of red brick.”

The success of custom designed homes is rooted in great design. For this project, located in Marda Loop, our design team took the same principals of design and luxury that we use in their multi-million-dollar designs and applied them to a smaller footprint.

Classic components like red brick, real hardwood, natural stone, site-built cabinetry gel seamlessly with must-have modern luxuries like a steam room, steam oven, automated blinds, heated floors and state-of-the-art mechanical, resulting in a sublimely unique and desired property.

McDowell is one of our go-to architectural designers both for our client’s homes (as home builders) but also for our own family’s homes. We had a crystal clear vision for this particular home and as always, Al and his team delivered a design that exceeded our vision and wildest expectations. So much so, we’ve got some pretty shiny hardware to support it — we’re truly thrilled with the result.
